Mufflon Cranium - Pagan
Mufflon Cranium (Ovis gmelini musimon), unknown age - Handmade into an art/fantasy/pagan Skull. Marked. Mufflon are the archetype of domestic sheep.
The forehead is decorated with wild sheep leather and brass from an old 20th century ancor lamp (Hamburg harbor). Genuine hoofnails for mountain mules were used to complete this unique "ram" skull. There are four hoofnails around the base and additional nails on the front of each horn (12 nails in total). These nails are supposed to get a patina by time. For a satin finish, the skull has been brushed with bees wax.
All teeth (upper jaw) are in place, well cleaned and preserved. Some small cracks and natural wear on the horns and skull.
If desired, you can polish and engrave the brass rhombus (about 0,5mm thick brass).
A true conversation piece for home decoration, your man cave or any natural history collection !
