Orthoceras were an order of nautiloid cephalopod and had a straight chambered shells. The hydrodynamic body enabled fast movements and vertical migration for hunting across an wide depth range. Our Orthoceras are found in layers of black marble. The top sides are carefully polished.

Age: about 450 million years (Ordovician) 

Location: Morocco

Small imperfections such as elliptical shape, hairline cracks, changes in color and structure are to be expected due to age.
