Mantelliceras: 150x130 mm, weight: 1755gr.
Mantelliceras were an order of ammonites (cephalopods) and had a spiral-chambered shell. They most likely lived as slow swimmers near the bottom with little current movement. Mantelliceras fossils can be identified by their wide chambers and strongly ribbed shells. All pieces are carefully cleaned, backside stays raw.
Age: about 95 to 115 million years (Cretaceous)
Location: Morocco
Please note that each fossil is unique and will vary slightly in color, shape, size and appearance. Small imperfections such as elliptical shape, hairline cracks, changes in color and structure are to be expected due to age.
The largest diameter is measured, in millimeters, as shown in the pictures.
